Storage on wheels

It was time to do something with the second bedside cupboard. It's been sitting under my hubby's work bench for a week and it seems to be filling up with nails and screws. I thought maybe I will convert it to be pretty little storage to keep all the knick knacks in the garage.

Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture before I started ripping it apart so this is my before picture.

I thought I'll play with colour this time so I painted the draws cream and the outer shell black. Loving the combo already!!!

I wanted to be able to move the cupboard around easily so thought fixing caster wheels will be a good idea. I made a trip to the recycle centre because I remember seeing caster wheels in a box last time. I bought a few of them 20c a piece! Bargain! I screwed and hammered the caster wheels into the outer shell.

The cupboards had a wooden trim which I ripped off because I didn't like it. I had a iron on Malemine edging which I bought for $10 from Bunnings which I wanted to try out. It gave a really good finish to the edging. Very neat!

The Malemine edging tape had about half a centimetre on the sides which my darling hubby helped me to cut with his router which made my life easy.

Screwed in some new handles from Bunnings $2.40 each.

And here's my storage on wheels!!!! Looks good doesn't it?

But wait! I am not done yet! :)

I thought it will be a good idea to have labels on each drawer to write it's contents. I bought a blackboard paint for $6.99 and chalk for 29c from Riot Art just because they were on special. This was my chance to use them! See buying random things is not completely useless :):):)

Bit of measuring, bit of masking tape..

Finally it's done!!! My pretty little storage on wheels.. with a label on each drawer!!!

Haven't written anything on it yet because the paint was still wet but it's brilliant!!!! Isn't it?
